Best Summer Yet

You know what? It's been a great summer so far!

The bils and thimbles are poppin. The blues are on their way. The lake is still cold. The air is pleasant. The community garden looks amazing. Business in the area has been good, but not overwhelming from what I can see.

Pretty good, right?

Oh, and we went for a new hike with Brady! He hiked further up the Red Trail than ever before. He loves that one, and he has to lead the whole time because he is so proud he knows the way. Then, on our way back, we took the Mango Trail down for a bit. He went way further than I expected. He even conquered two big features!

He also made it down and back up a couple rugged rock faces!

We ate lots of berries along the way. It was such a sweet hike with Brady as our fearless leader. He was pretty tired after that, but we didn't have to carry him at all! Ha! I mean, when you're hiking, you're hiking, right?

I'm sure there are more fun stories to say about that, but, man. I'm beat! It's summer in the harbor, and there is so much to do because the snow will be here before we know it. I had a man stop into the gallery today who was very curious about what it's like to live here in the winter.

Honestly, I think people make it a bigger deal than it really is. But I suppose it's what you're used to. And what kind of tools, machines and neighbors you have. If you have good ones in all of those categories, it's very doable. Then you just need to have a strong mind to keep you ambitious enough to not sleep when you aren't moving snow.

Ha!

But listen to me talk about winter. It's summer!

And honestly, here in the harbor, it's probably the best one I have had yet.
