You know, sometimes I blog, sometimes I record a podcast, sometimes I tell people a story about what we did and sometimes I go through the story in my head and never tell anyone. Ha!
I'm sure most of us at least do the last one, but my point is that I don't always know where I left off. What did I tell you? What did I forget? What did I tell you three times already?
My second point is, thanks for your patience and understanding. I've got a LOT going on. Some of which I don't usually mention here, but I will quickly give you a peek into my life.
I am currently writing two books which will be numbers five and six since my first one in 2012. Yes, one of those is the sequel to In the Dirt. Woohoo!!! The other is top secret as I am also a ghostwriter. I don't know how many books you've written, but it takes a lot of time, creativity and energy. Good thing I loooooooove to write books! Nerd alert!
Beyond that, I'm putting the finishing touches on my new business, P. Pie Properties LLC, to manage the property I own in Copper Harbor. I feel so grateful to get to rent to my friends! It's so meaningful for everyone.
I just moved, so I have to transfer everything to a new mailing address. I also just got accepted to be a substitute teacher at the local school, and I'm so excited to be immersed in people that way!
Those are a few of the things, so you don't think I'm bored.
But we also explore.
Yes!!! I love exploring new places!
This past weekend, I took my dad and Brady to the Gardener's Creek Trail system down by Calumet Waterworks. It was so lush and mossy in there. With so many kinds of trees! The terrain was easy to walk and mostly flat. I enjoyed it, and so did the zombie we found.
After that hike, who can resist a quick trip to Her Majesty. I mean, she's right there!
I tell ya. A zombie in the woods and a daredevil on the beach. Never a dull moment with this kid..
Before we left, my dad said in surprise, "He didn't throw one rock!"
"Nope," I said. "He prefers to watch the waves these days."
What a little man.
Yesterday he stayed home from school because his body was not quite adjusting to a new medication he was on. More fun things to keep me busy. I'll spare you the details, but I couldn't send him to school in his condition.
Good thing it was a beautiful day! For one of our adventures, we set out on the ebike on a snowmobile trail. I mean, how fun! I must say, I can see a love for joy-riding in the woods when you go through tunnels of trees with changing leaves. What a treat! Here is a view from one of the ridges we were on.
I accidentally got really turned around because the trail did a 180 without me realizing, but I think this view is facing north. I love that you can see down the valley and up the other ridge.
Also, as you can see, the autumn leaves are just past their peak. Oh, what a glorious fall it was!
I've got to get ready for a class (I am also taking classes!), but before I go, here is the link to our latest podcast episode. Amy is awesome, and I just love her perseverant story on her path to fulfillment.
May we never stop striving for less than the best. Life is waiting for us to claim it.
